The Youth Ministry

Agape missions church in Zimbabwe has got a vibrant youth fellowship. The church provides training for the youths in leadership. They mentor young people to be leaders of excellence, integrity and relevance to society. The church identifies young people that are Faithful, Available And Able (FAT Disciples) to undergo training in effective good leadership.

The vision for the youth ministry was drawn from the book of Hebrews 10:38-39 [We are not those who shrink back are destroyed but we are those who are determined at whatever cost]. The church also provides career guidance to its youths. The church has a clearly defined youth policy, which guides the conduct of young people in the church.

Challenges faced in dealing with Young people:

  • Youths easily succumb to peer pressure
  • They are in transit and it is not easy to plan with them in mind
  • Leadership development- identify someone and they do not become what you thought they will become

Challenges faced by the church:

  • Shortage of leaders - In spite of the large number of leaders that are being trained there still remains a huge gap in leadership because the church is growing at an amazingly faster rate.
  • Language barrier - Ndebele and English languages are the medium of instruction at Agape Missions and this makes it difficult for the church to expand to other places were disparate languages are spoken.

Future plans:

  • To train and raise more effective and incorruptible leaders of excellence
  • To reach out to other societies
  • To equip the bible school in both Nkayi and Bulawayo with adequate resources
  • Establish a Pre- school in Nkayi
  • To build a Sunday school in Nkayi and other sub branches
  • To buy instruments for the Nkayi Centre branch
