Pledges

They are a response to situations and arising. Pledges are usually made to buy instruments, prepare for conferences, missions and outreaches among other things. For example pledges for the 2004 annual conference focused on raising money for outreach programmes. Pledges are usually made in the form of money, cattle, grain, goats, chickens, millet among other agricultural produces. The 20 th anniversary conference in 2004, received; 1 heifer, 10 goats, 104 bags of maize, 51 chickens and Z$1 700 440.00 etc. pledges are made in a conference and the church usually makes a follow up and bring these to the central committee. However, church branches also make their own pledges, to support disparate church activities.

Types of pledges

  • Individual pledges
  • Family pledges
  • Church branch pledges

One of the elders of the church also commented that the church is still growing in as far as the running of pledges is concerned. In some situations people fail to honour their pledges and thus affecting the church's plans.
